Heather's Wolf Head - progress 1

Hello all!

Heather would like to share her new project and progress with you.

Her new chart is called Wolf and charted to be stitched in one colour. But Heather wasn't keen on that idea and decided she wanted a variety of blues. She took most of my spares and is simply making up the colour palette as she goes along! I certainly wouldn't try that and don't think there are many stitchers who would. She's a brave girl! Here's the chart then.....

.....and here's her progress so far on the eye, nose and forehead, full size and close up:

 Stitched on 16ct Rustico Aida

I have to say that, obvious bias aside, she's doing a fantastic job! I really hope she keeps up her enthusiasm and I can show you more of her progress soon.

Should her enthusiasm continue she may even set up her own cross stitching blog!

Until next time,
Rachel and Heather xx

OK, that's impressive. I couldn't change colors like that if you paid me! I can't wait to see it finished!

It looks great, better than the charted version! She has a great eye! Perhaps she will be a designer one day...

Heather is brave! I wouldn't dare changing colours like that, so worried about getting the shadowing right... but she's doing brilliantly so far :) It looks great & much better than the original in one colour!!

That's wonderful! I love the blues. I think everyone is right, you have a very talented stitcher on your hands. I bet she could design some great charts sine day. I hope she keeps with it.

I'm amazed that she's making up the colour changes as she goes! There are lots of experienced stitchers (me included) who wouldn't have a clue where to start to stitch shading like that.
It looks absolutely brilliant - well done Heather!
Looking forward to reading Heather's blog soon!

Oh wow, she is really brave. I would never try that. I'm even reluctant on changing colours. Your daughter is really very creative.

This is a great project, she's making really good colour choices too. She might like to try variegated threads on another project!
