Woohoo! I have another finish to share with you! That's two in one week and four so far this year! This girl is steaming!!
This is Sleepy Book from the Odd Dog range and was my start for day 16 of the challenge. Here is how I left him:
Here he is after completing the stitching:
And, finally, here he is after adding the backstitching:
Stitched on 16ct Cloud Blue aida from Sewitall.com 2 over 1
Stitch count 64 wide by 43 high
Started - 16th January 2016
Finished - 5th February 2016
Total stitching time - 12 hours 45 minutes
I can't stress how much I love this cute piece, even though the colours have not come out quite as bright as suggested by the cover picture. The sleepy yawn is exactly what happens to me when I try to read and, judging from previous comments, a lot of you feel like this when you pick up a book too!
I haven't yet decided how to finish him so, for the time being, he will join my other Orphans in my Box of Shame.
So, what's next on my frame I hear you ask? Well, I have chosen a piece on which I only intend to make a few hour's progress before moving onto another finish. However, I have a feeling I will not be able to put it down. I suppose it just depends on my cattitude!
Back whenever!

That was quick! He's so cute, I think he's my favourite of all your DUCJC starts this year.
ReplyDeleteYou're off to a brilliant start with four finishes, especially since until 6 days ago you had a new start every day! Looking forward to a year of cute finishes!
He is so cute!! I love this series.
ReplyDeleteAt this rate, your 31 projects will be finished in no time. Which is all the best for us readers, more cuteness coming up :)
I was waiting for this finish, Rachel. This little guy is among my favourites, if not the favourite. I just love how he lies in his pillows with book and yawning. This would happen to me as well if I tried to read in bed, lol. That's why I read in the mornings and right after lunch.
ReplyDeleteHe's very sweet! Reading in bed usually sends me to sleep after a few pages.
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel. This is the first time for me to comment on your blog which I discovered around the new year. I really enjoyed following you through your January starts and just had to say what a cute little finish this is! I look forward to finding out how many more of your starts will get finished during the year!
ReplyDeleteLynette (another UK stitcher)
After seeing him finished I think he might be my favorite of your starts, too. He's just too cute for words! Your needle is on fire!
ReplyDeleteAdorable :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the adorable finish Rachel. The backstitching makes such a big difference.
ReplyDeleteLinda
What a difference the backstitching makes!
ReplyDeleteOh how adorable! Boy the backstitching really made this one. Love it! Super Congrats! 4 finished already. Good luck on your next one.
ReplyDeleteWow great job he's a real cutie!
ReplyDeleteThis one is very cute. I think the back-stitching really brought out the pillow shape. What a cute bookmark it would make.
ReplyDeleteSo cute!! It looks perfect after the backstitching :) You are doing great with lots of finishes within a month! It will look good on a small pillow or as a patchwork on a library bag or something. Please don't put in the box of shame, he is so cute he doesn't deserve to be there.
ReplyDeleteAnother spectacular finish. Adore this project, just soooo cute. Well done on making sure fantastic progress on your pieces. Really looking forward to seeing what you move onto.
ReplyDeleteOh he is a cutie! I think you are on your way to a record for finishes this year!
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely cute!
ReplyDeleteAhww, how cute is he! Well done!
