Thank you for your comments again yesterday. A lot of you seem to like the little Woodland Folk.
For day 3 of DUCJC 2016 the children chose this funny-cute chart. If you familiar with Margaret Sherry you will be aware how many fractional stitches are usually involved, so I immediately opted to stitch it on evenweave. But... guess what? There are no fractionals! What? A Margaret Sherry with no fractionals? Not even the backstitching splits the fabric! I was (almost) speechless!!
Here is my progress for the day. I will not be stitching the background, hence the coloured fabric. With hindsight I should have stitched the face and expression first and although I tried to squeeze them in before midnight I just couldn't do it. Nevermind, it's something to look forward to when I return.

I don't think that looks like you at all! Maybe you don't have reason to get cross with us!
ReplyDeleteAnother cute start - you're going to have another year of cuteness ahead!
Lol great start! I think that's a mother thing :)
ReplyDeleteAnother cutie! You got quite a bit done for just one day.
ReplyDeleteMy kids would say the same of me. We moms are so misunderstood;)
He's adorable. I think all moms "look" like that at one time or another LOL.
ReplyDeleteLol, isn't that a mood mode set on all mums?? :D
ReplyDeleteLove MS designs & really surprised at the absence of fractionals.... which is good news obviously!! Great start
Haha, I love the expression of her face.
ReplyDeleteYep another too cute piece! LOL That your kids think it looks like you. Tell them stop giving you reasons to do that face and hands on hips. Great new start!!
ReplyDeleteAnother superb project. I'm surprised this piece has no fractionals, should be a fun one to stitch.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteA lovely new start and I love Sally Squirrel too.
Your blog is lovely.
Another adorable design Rachel. Love the cat pose. You are putting us all to shame with your adorable charts.

LOL it is a mom thing! I think we all stand with our hands on our hips and say "Because I said so" and they just look at us like we are crazy. I love this chart, the cat is very cute!
ReplyDeleteI love this one! And I am also surprised there are no fractional stitches! You will speed through this one.
ReplyDeleteNice start on this one! I love that they picked it out for you. I need to practice that on my toddler now too.
ReplyDeleteLovely start!! Good that there are no fractional stitches. I think most moms have that pose in common:)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute design! I'm as surprised as you are that there are no fractional stitches....that must be the one and only MS design like that :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I've always loved the patterns in that calendar and wished I could get a hold of a copy. I will enjoy watching this grow! I can't believe there's no fractionals though!
