DSDUCJFC 2015 - Day 41

Morning all!

Warning - wordy post alert!

Thank you for your best wishes for my daughter. She is recovering slowly but not back at school yet. That just means more hugs for me!

For this chart I only had three colours in my stash so was limited as to which bits I could do. Luckily I was able to stitch the barge and bargee. I've ordered some threads (staying within my SFS budget) but still need about 100 more! The question for the remainder is..... do I order them monthly and stay within SFS or do I blow the budget and order them all at once? I know which one my bank balance would prefer!!

I've had a couple of comments recently asking if I'm going to continue the daily new starts throughout March! I've certainly got enough projects and if I keep them really small I should have enough fabric and threads to delve into. One major concern is that I have been neglecting my larger pieces in order to do the Challenge but it has also been pointed out that I do stitch quite a lot on each new start. So, if I were to continue I would have to divide my time between the new starts and the bigger projects. That's achievable.

What do you think?

Anyway, what would it be called? DSDABUCJFMC - Debbie's Super Duper Absolutely Bonkers Ultimate Crazy January February March Challenge?!

Give me your thoughts and please be absolutely honest. You're my audience and your opinions matter. Would you still like to see daily new starts and postings or are you fed up with them? To make it more fun I've set up a voting widget-thingy on my home page. Please vote responsibly (although as many times as you feel necessary!)

Happy stitching
Crazy Rachel x

  1. I am also doing this challenge but not officially as I'm not on FB. So I changed the rules a bit just for me. I also do the 31 new starts but I can't put down a project after just one day of stitching on it. And I do not want to neglect my big projects that I love so dearly. So I start new projects only on the weekends and stitch on my BAPs during the weeks. Works great for me.This way it will take until the end of March until I will have started all 31 projects but I like it this way.
Whatever you do just enjoy it.

  3. Do whatever makes you happy. I know I have a few things I'm planning on starting in March but I personally would rather make progress on my other designs. I will read your blog if it's new starts or works in progress updates.

Love your new project. I vote for blow the budget and get them all at one time. Then you'll have them all.

  4. LOL, Rachel! Here's my thought. When I did the January challenge a couple of years (15 starts) it was SO fun in January. But by June I really felt burdened to finish what I had started before I started anything else new and that was hard for me. So what was fun to start left me with a lot of guilt to finish it all. So my advice would be to stop at the end of February and give yourself time to work on some of the pieces and then do another month of starts later in the year. You'll complete some of what you started and have the joy of some new starts to look forward to! : ) Either way though, I certainly will be watching!! : ) ~ Tricia

  5. I agree with Mrs.Graceworks. I've thought to myself..."when is she going to finish all these projects if she keeps starting new ones everyday?" Although, I have to say, I LOVE watching what new project you have picked each day. The Owl pattern that you did a few day ago was so cute, I went straight to Etsy and bought a copy for myself!
I will continue to come to your blog everyday whatever you choose to do!

  6. Love your new start Rachel. They look like they will stitch up fairly quickly. I think you should buy what you need now and go for the March starts. Kate is going to do the March starts. Here is a link to her blog: http://sssinthesun.blogspot.com/
